Practices should provide ongoing, timely, current, evidence-based trauma-informed care education and appropriate training to all staff in the clinic, including physicians, nurses, medical assistants, office and billing staff. Education and training should be based on the best research available, incorporating both online and in-person option to engage all staff.

  • SEEK MODEL (University of Maryland) In the SEEK Model (Safe Environment for Every Kid), training is provided to child health primary care professionals to briefly assess and initially help address prevalent psychosocial problems. Principles of motivational interviewing are incorporated to help engage parents in developing a plan. Online training as well as in-person training for professionals in provided.
