Caring for Our Caregivers
2023 Tools to Advocate

When caregivers are healthy and well, children can learn and grow, families can fully contribute, and Iowa's economy and communities can flourish. Access to health care, home visiting, and paid time off create opportunities for caregivers to thrive, while also prioritizing nurturing relationships with their kids.

We've developed the following resources to help you connect with your elected leaders and educate your community about the importance of policies that promote family well-being. For support with your advocacy efforts, please contact Mary Nelle Trefz, Iowa ACEs 360 Advocacy Network Director.

Thriving Family Messages
The following are messages you can share on social media and with your networks to encourage interest in policies that promote caregiver and family well-being.

Message 1
A caregiver is a child’s first and most important teacher, nurse, safety officer, and guide to the world. But caregivers alone do not create the conditions their kids need to thrive. Policies should give caregivers the freedom to make choices that promote their family’s well-being.
