Iowa ACEs Coalition Structure

In addition to encouraging networking among members, our coalition convenes members in these three ways. For more information about a particular group, contact us.

Community Learning Circle

At least twice a year, Community Learning Circle events share new information through speakers and provide an opportunity to network with others involved in the ACEs movement.

ACEs Action Groups
Action Groups move work forward in alignment with the strategic areas set by the ACEs Steering Committee. Action groups include the advocacy coalition, sector-based work groups, and ad-hoc committees. These groups meet as needed.

Central Iowa ACEs Steering Committee
The Steering Committee provides leadership for the ACEs Coalition. It is made up of stakeholders representing identified organizations or coalitions who work together to prevent and mitigate the impact of adverse childhood experiences.

Our commitment as a coalition

Joining the coalition is free and gives you an opportunity to continue to learn with us as we grow the movement across the state and in specific sectors. As a coalition, we are committed to working with our members in this way:
  • Empowering each individual to respond to the ACEs research
  • Providing backbone support to growing Iowa's ACEs movement
  • Working in partnership with many other entities
  • Offering vetted tools, resources, and best practices
  • Communicating regularly about our work and what we are learning
  • Advocating for policies and system changes
  • Tracking results to capture best practices
